Our family of Ion-Selective Electrodes are great for monitoring four environmentally important ions: Nitrate (NO₃^-), Chloride (Cl^-), Calcium (Ca²⁺), and Ammonium (NH₄⁺).

Here are some of their features:

Electrodes are combination-style, non-refillable, and gel-filled.
It is important for you to know that Vernier ISE membranes, like all other PVC ISE membranes, have a limited life expectancy; however, the replaceable module of Vernier ISEs allows you to simply discard the used one, and replace it with a new module. We recommend that you do not purchase replacement modules far in advance of their expected time of use, as their life expectancy is limited as well.
Included with each ISE are two calibration standards and a Short-Term Soaking Bottle.

Here are some uses of each of our four electrodes:
Nitrate (NO₃^-)	Nitrate ion concentration is an important parameter in nearly all water quality studies. Nitrates can be introduced by acidic rainfall, fertilizer runoff from fields, and plant or animal decay or waste.
Chloride (Cl^-)	This ion gives a quick measurement of salinity of water samples. It can even measure chloride levels in ocean saltwater or salt in food samples.
Calcium (Ca²⁺)	This electrode gives a good indication of hardness of water (as Ca²+). It is also used as an endpoint indicator in EDTA-Ca/Mg hardwater titrations.
Ammonium (NH₄⁺)	This electrode measures levels of ammonium ions introduced from fertilizers. It can also indicate aqueous ammonia levels if sample solutions are acidified to convert NH₃ to NH₄⁺.
